OUR FOOD
Welcome to the “new” Five Sails, a renowned Vancouver
restaurant with an updated point of view. Under the direct proprietorship
of Chef Ernst Dorfler and his wife Gerry Sayers, they continue the
tradition of celebrated fine dining with an a la carte menu designed
to complement the spectacular views and wines and introduce an elegant
tasting plate menu for guests in search of more relaxed dining at
our elevated banquettes or contemporary bar.
Chef Ernst Dorfler and his team will focus their talents on sourcing
the finest quality of seasonal, West Coast ingredients including
the best local suppliers and producers and Ernst’s favourite
for organic produce; the annual Summer Trout Lake Market in East
Vancouver. It is Ernst’s philosophy to continuously expand
his culinary horizons by incorporating new techniques, preparations
and creative presentations to showcase his world class cuisine from
the best point of view and to inspire his guests to return.
We invite you to experience our seasonal offerings that include
small plates, Chef’s tasting menu and our creative vegetarian
cuisine. We also offer customized group menus for larger parties
of 10 or more guests.
WINES
Five Sails Sommelier, Ramon Fresneda and proprietor, Gerry Sayers
will focus on creating and developing a wine list to complement
the spectacular Five Sails location overlooking the beauty of British
Columbia. The Wine List features local producers with special emphasis
on the Okanagan Valley and includes a representation of favourite
wine producing countries around the old world and new world. There
is an extensive and eclectic selection of wines by the glass to
entice diners at the bar and banquettes as well as the option to
taste and experience a flight of unique wines from select Okanagan
vineyards. It is Ramon’s philosophy to surprise and delight
the Five Sails guests with inspired selections for each menu item
and occasion.
